Independent Maths Learning in LH1

Today our learners were set the challenge to decide upon their own learning as part of maths today.  We discussed what learning should look and feel like if it's targeted at the right level and came up with these ideas:

Dylan and Sam decided to extend their statistical thinking.  Yesterday they looked at the most likely numbers to come up when rolling two dice and today they connected what they already knew and decided to investigate the least likely number to be rolled.

What an awesome student-led investigation!

"It's more fun because we've decided we wanted to learn it" - Dylan

How many ways can you make 2?
How many ways can you make 12?
Should these be just as likely to come up as each other or is one more likely?
